The Definitive Grouting and Coating Solution

FlowMatrix offer a high-build strategy to secure your investment by eliminating core vulnerabilities:

  • Eliminate Steel Corrosion: Our specialised systems create an impermeable barrier, immediately stopping chemical attack on the internal steel structure.
  • Stop Permanent Leaks: Highly flexible coatings are designed to absorb intense vibration and excessive flexing, permanently sealing water and chemical leaks.
  • Extend Service Life: This definitive defence against the elements ensures a guaranteed extension of your cooling tower or condenser’s service life for decades.
  • Stop Chemical Loss
  • Save Water
  • Clean Air
  • Save Energy

RepelCoat Coating System Range

RepelCoat offers a range of specialised solutions designed to meet these exact challenges:

  • RepelCoat Rapid RCR-200 / 300 / 400:These systems are used for coating the interior of mild steel, stainless steel, and fiberglass cooling towers. Structural steel supports. Steel ductwork and fan discharges. The amazing thing about this system is the two-hour curing time between coats which is a great time saver for our clients. These systems are also suited to submerged applications.
  • RepelCoat PUME-200:Membrane coating system for concrete, steel and cool store panels.
  • RepelCoat PV-300 / 400:These systems are used on pipework, vessels, tanks that are associated with non-submerged cooling towers or refrigeration systems.
  • RepelCoat Grout GSW-200:For sealing / repairing hollow cores in steel fibreglass or concrete.
  • RepelCoat MP-100:Submerged concrete resurfacing repair.

For the application of the RepelCoat systems our personnel are trained in using the correct PPE, ventilation procedures, the application of the products, and hazard control.

RepelCoat Grout GSW-200: Hollow Core Sealing and Repair

FlowMatrix developed RepelCoat Grout GSW-200 specifically to address the unique structural and biological hazards associated with Hollow Cores in cooling tower systems. It is an engineered solution for sealing and repairing cores in steel, fibreglass, or concrete units.

Key Features and Benefits of RepelCoat Grout GSW-200:

  • Structural Sealing: Seals and repairs the internal structure of Hollow Cores in various materials.
  • Bacteria Control: Eliminates internal cavities where water collects, preventing Legionella and other bacteria from living and multiplying within the core.
  • Environmental Protection: Stops hazardous chemicals from leaking out of the cooling tower and onto the ground, preventing them from travelling to our rivers, creeks, and bays where they cause environmental damage.
  • Inaccessible Unit Solution: Specifically designed to seal units where interior access is impossible due to installed components, such as when a coil is bolted into the casing of an evaporative condenser or fluid cooler.
  • Versatility: Can be used where traditional sealing methods (like coating interior seams in hollow legs of units like the BAC RCT or PCT) are not feasible or possible.
  • Application: Used for sealing and repairing Hollow Cores that are associated with cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and fluid coolers.

Application Example

This is an example where the RepelCoat Grout GSW-200 system is used to fill the hollow legs, to stop the chemical leaks. It also stop bacterial growth.

Grout is commonly associated with filling gaps between tiles, but grout also has a major role in solving cooling tower repairs. FlowMatrix had developed RepelCoat Grout to repair cracks in concrete pits, repairing sections of concrete that have fallen off concrete plinths or general cracks.

Our latest innovation is RepelCoat Grout for filling cooling tower hollow cores. Modern BAC RCT and PCT cooling towers and condensers are built with hollow fiberglass legs that leak water and chemicals after the internal casing sealant fails. Condensers and fluid coolers have coils fitted so it is impossible to seal the interior casing seams as the coils are in the way. Filling the hollow core with RepelCoat Grout is a fantastic solution as it seals the hollow legs once and forever.

Formed in 2018 RepelCoat coating products are designed to provide specialised coating systems for cooling tower installations, cooling tower repairs, water leak sealing, pipework, steel supports, plant room floors, roof surfaces under cooling towers, pipework penetrations through floors and roofs, Cool store panel sealing and grouting systems for concrete plinths, or hollow core filling.
